I arrived at the Terranea resort for a late check in. The reception area was vast and fully stocked with an energetic friendly staff. I was led up to my room by a friendly bell boy who was very knowledgeable about the 102 acre resort. He was garrulous in describing all the different varieties of wildlife (dolphins, butterflies, whales) that inhabit the area. The room was typically fancy, exactly what you would expect for a weekend of complete relaxation: Plasma T.V., over sized balcony, jacuzzi bath tub, and a cozy bed. The next morning I awoke to a beautiful sunrise over the peninsula (I was told that nine months out of the year you can see both sunrise and sunset from the hotel!). I didn’t have any trouble finding things to do in the day time, the resort is littered with fun things to do with a your friends, or your family. While having a delicious lunch by the pool I realized that this is the perfect hotel to stay at for a nice get a way from the busyness of the work week. I was pleased to find that the hotel prides itself in it ecologically friendly practices. The golf course uses a self sustaining ‘bio swell’ water filtration system which keeps it’s lawns fresh and flawless. The golf course has over 45 coral trees that have been preserved through the various hotel renovations and additions. I finished my afternoon adventure with a leisurely stroll to the local lighthouse. I had an amazing time at the Terranea resort. Whether you bring your whole family, or you are all alone, it’s the perfect place for a relaxing getaway.
