The Soho Hotel, seated in the heart of London’s Soho district, is one of the boldest boutique offerings from Tim and Kit Kemp, owners of Firmdale Hotels that include the Haymarket, Covent Garden, Charlotte Street and Knightsbridge Hotels as well as Number Sixteen.

The hotel offers 91 elegant bedrooms and suites (including four penthouse suites with wraparound tree-lined terraces), each with floor-to-ceiling windows, WiFi and flatscreen TVs. The rooms feature colorful modern design, with bathrooms boasting double basins, oak and glass walk-in showers and bath products from London-based perfumer Miller Harris.

Those looking to get out of their rooms and explore can chat with other guests in the bustling hotel lobby, anchored by Fernando Botero’s 10-foot black cat sculpture. The nearby drawing room offers plush seating and a colorful design for groups to gather, while the brightly lit library provides a place for quieter recreation.

But much of the Soho’s activity happens at Refuel, the hotel’s bar and restaurant. A colorful mural capturing the site’s earlier existence as a car park serves as the eye-catching backdrop to the classic bar. The gothic chandeliers and low seating give Refuel a relaxed, lounge feel.

The bar offers an extensive cocktail menu, including signature cocktails like the Refuel Martini (muddled watermelon with vodka, Passoa liquer, lime and grenadine) and Single Smoke (whiskey, vermouth and Cherry Heering liquer with orange juice) as well as tapas and small plates of bar food.

A rotating three-course dinner menu, created by executive chef Robin Read includes a selection of roast pork belly, paprika marinated baby chicken or carrot and spring onion risotto, as well as a selection of appetizers and desserts. Afternoon tea and breakfast are available to guests as well.

For added entertainment, the Soho Hotel includes two movie theaters omplete with Xpand Active 3D technology, and luxurious leather seating for 45 and 100 guests, respectively. The theaters can be booked in advance, and the hotel also has a “film club” offer that provides guests with a three-course lunch, dinner or champagne afternoon tea and a viewing of a latest release of film classic, depending on the week.

The Soho Hotel also has four two-bedroom apartments, each with a separate street entrance and private elevator. Each apartment comes equipped with a kitchen, two bathrooms and a drawing room.
