Festie kids were able to walk around, costumed or naked and chose which genre of electronic music they wanted to hear. You can see local/touring electro, break beat, house, trance, dubstep, drum 'n bass djs and more. Most people carry around beer(s), pacifiers, spliffs, falafels and sodas until they become so dizzy from constant walking around the Civic Center. Maybe they were dizzy from all the ganja brownies floating around at the festival? There were so many people this year that everyone's cellular phones would not go thru, since everyone was trying to dial at once trying to find lost friends. This was the biggest dilemma; finding your friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, sons daughters and even grandparents. On the lighter side, this turned out to be a very peacful, beautiful festival where most kids/adults were given the option for a suggested donation. Most people strolled into LoveFest 2008 for free, however many diehard electronic fans were more than happy to make a donation to support the local San Francisco electronic music scene. After the parade ended at 8pm sharp, crowds gathered and disperesed to numerous afterparties throughout San Francisco. The major after party was at the Bill Graham Civic Auditoriaum with huge DJ names attaches such as Armin van Buuren from Holland, ATB from Germany and Above and Beyond from the UK. I just cannot wait a whole year until the next LoveFest 2009!
