I have stayed at a few great hotels in my travels around the world but none have compared to the Kensington Park Hotel and Hotel Diva and Hotel Union Square hotels in San Francisco. Each hotel had a unique perspective and style, making them a very original experience that greatly enhanced our stay in San Francisco and I highly recommend them for the design and style conscious traveller.
Kensington Park HotelKensington Park Hotel is located in the heart of Union Square where all the shopping and nightlife starts and also near a lot of theatre. The lobby and rooms have a lot of style and were very clean. Exuding historic San Francisco charm, the stylish lobby featured hand-painted ceilings, mosaic tile and classic Queen Anne antiques accented by crystal chandeliers.Hotel Union Square was designed by San Francisco-based Interior Designer Riley Johndonnell. In 2013 the hotel lobby and the penthouse suites were renovated by Johnathan Rachman. Lisa Compagno designed the Dashiell Hammett Suite. Infused with the colors of San Francisco, the striking guestrooms feature bursts of crimson (reflective of the Golden Gate Bridge), soothing shades of grey (reminiscent of the native fog) and earthy taupe to incorporate San Francisco’s natural setting. Meticulously designed to give the feel of a sophisticated urban apartment, rooms are outfitted with platform beds with custom-made cream tufted leather headboards and luxurious 300-thread count linens.
