The concept of Kaiten-Zushi style restaurants originated in Japan in the early 1960’s. While there are countless sushi restaurants in Beverly Hills and beyond, Luckyfish is only one of a limited number of Kaiten-Zushi style restaurants in the U.S. and only a handful in London with the technological advancement of “RFID” to insure freshness. One word to the wise: Make sure that you use both hands when picking up your selections off the conveyor belt. If you don’t pick up your plate with two hands, it could lead to the awkwardness of spilling sushi all over yourself as well as a dry cleaning bill.
The atmosphere in Luckyfish is casual, yet stylish and fun. Although located right smack dab in the center of Beverly Hills, the prices are reasonable and you won’t find any stiff attitudes here. The staff is above and beyond cordial and helpful and the dining crowd is often hip yet you can also bring your children here for a great time. The atmosphere lends to the lively and upbeat vibe at Luckyfish and it’s a great place to start your night before heading out for a night on the town.
Now let’s not forget about the delectable menu. There is the standard sushi and sashimi from albacore to toro to Spanish macarel which all go nice with a Japanese beer and sake. There are also creative sushi plates that veer away from “fish on rice” standards such as the unforgettable Whitefish Crudo, Tuna Tataki with garlic chips and the crispy rice topped with spicy tuna, Hanabi. There are so many good things on the menu and the specialty cocktails are delish such as the “Lucky Infusion”.
Luckyfish is open for lunch and dinner and even delivers! Fresh sushi, delicious, creative plates and enticing specialty drinks –it’s your lucky day!
