Hotel Borg is a marvel. First of all it has the best location in Reykjavik that you can imagine. All the designer stores, vintage stores, bars and clubs where you want to go are literally a two minutes walk from your room. It’s so great after a wild night out -A La Icelandic night out- not to have to wait for a cab to go ‘home’. The hotel has an art deco style, from the lobby to the rooms that makes it stand out from most of the impersonal luxury chains. And it’s not just a deco concept. Hotel Bjorg was opened in 1930 and since then has kept its identity, even if it has been renovated a few times. The rooms are very spacious and the colour palette used in the furniture is very smart looking and gives you a very relaxing feeling. The only minor negative is the fact that you cannot surf on the internet from your bed because there’s not internet wireless connection in the rooms, you have to sit on a chair and use a wire that is located at the desk. Otherwise the staff at the reception is particularly friendly and helpful. The hotel includes a few suites, the biggest one: “The Tower Suite” is a duplex with a living room on the roof top where you can observe the lovely Iceland’s capital 360° from a conformable couch, pretty impressive.
