With the new truck, Flavour Gallery—whose “chefebrity” fans include Michael Symon, Gordon Ramsay, Rick Tramonto, Rick Bayless, Chris Cosentino, and Ludo Lefebvre, to name a few—will root the brand at major culinary events, including food and wine festivals, popular food truck stops, and farmers’ markets throughout the summer, supplying its “produce” and meeting the locals that inspired the collection. Popular designs include prints of chef knives, an homage to salt featuring a Nelson Mandela quote, and infrared Kimchi prints, among others.
Coinciding with the debut of its rolling retail store, Flavour Gallery also launches “Flavourspotting,” a Twitter special for local foodies, offered through September 5, 2011. Fans who follow @FlavourGallery on Twitter, snap a photo of the truck, and post the image to their Twitter feed including “@FlavourGallery” in their tweet will receive 15% off their first order. The perk is valid with online orders (customers can email a screenshot of their tweet or provide a link to their Twitter feed) or at the Flavour Gallery truck (with proof of the tweet displayed via a smartphone). Additionally, for those who wear a Flavour Gallery shirt to any of the stops where the truck will be, receive 15% off the purchase of your next shirt.
Starting May 1 until August 31, Flavour Gallery will also host “Flavourisms,” a monthly caption contest through which local Twitter followers can win a complimentary dinner for two at coveted restaurants and neighborhood eateries in select city’s, and other prizes, including a dinner at Nobu in Malibu which will be given to one lucky winner and a guest to kick off the contest and first giveaway. Subsequently, the first of every month through the summer, Flavour Gallery will post a selected food-inspired photo to its website, encouraging fans to tweet their wittiest caption using the corresponding hashtag “#Flavourism.” Tweets are accepted throughout the month, with a winner selected on the last day of each month to.
