To help keep the most at-risk animals cool this summer, Dyson teamed up with the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) to donate Air Multiplier™ fans to several animal shelters around the country – many in underserved areas. The fans will be used to help keep staff, volunteers, and adoptable dogs and cats cooler in the summer heat.
In addition to circulating the cooling air inside cat and dog living areas, the fans have already come in handy helping to cool down over-heated animals. This month at the Charleston Animal Society, the Air Multiplier helped an overheated poodle after the shelter staff administered life-saving care.
In other shelters, both cats and dogs can be found sleeping and playing by the bladeless fans without shelter staff having to worry about dangerous and dusty blades found in traditional, bladed fans.
Lexie Parker, adoption center manager at the Central Oklahoma Humane Society said, “We received our fan and immediately put it to good use! Miss Phoebe, a lab mix, is enjoying the new fan.” Pam Backer, director of shelter operations at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Inc. added, “[The shelter] actually gets quite warm from foot traffic, so this is a perfect use for the fan!”
