The Iranian native developed a passion for medicine early in life. The son of a Jewish physician who regularly treated the poor for free, Dr. Fardad was inspired by the work of his father. At a young age, Dr. Fardad chose to forge a career path that would allow him to significantly shape and improve people’s lives.
He hoped to become a well-known local family doctor like his father, but the political climate in Iran interfered. In the late 1970’s, Iran was engaged in revolution. Anti-Semitism was widespread. Dr. Fardad’s father found bullet holes in the door of his office, and the decision was made to move the young family to the United States.
In less than two years, Dr. Fardad was accepted into UCLA’s prestigious Pre-Med Program. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Fardad attended medical school at Midwestern University in Chicago. Although intending to become a pediatrician, he fell in love with the practice of surgery and aesthetics, and its ability to dramatically change peoples lives.
Dr. Fardad satisfied five years of Surgical Residencies in General Surgery and Trauma Surgery at Chicago’s top hospitals including Edgwater, Thorak, Michael Reese and Columbia Olympia Fields Osteopathic Hospital, Trauma and Medical Center were he served as Chief Surgical Resident.
Dr. Fardad participated in his first Fellowship in Facial and Body Aesthetic and Cosmetic Surgery under former President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, Dr Richard Caleel. He then returned to Southern California to perform a second Fellowship, with Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Bernard Koire.
In 1998, Dr. Fardad founded his own shingle, The Beverly Hills Cosmetic Surgical Group. The Practice specializes in breast augmentations, lifts and reductions, eyelash transplants, rhinoplasties, liposuctions/liposculpture, abdominoplasties and more.
Dr. Fardad has set the standard for excellence in cosmetic surgery. Boarded in General Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Fardad is one of only three physicians in Southern California authorized by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery to operate and offer a Fellowship Program to train other surgeons to perform cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Fardad is also the inventor of a surgical device, the Umbilical Locator. Designed to help surgeons locate the belly button during abdominoplasties, a challenge for cosmetic and plastic surgeons, the Umbilical Locator has resolved a common surgical problem.
Dr. Fardad is also currently working with the world’s top dermatological manufacturer to develop a skincare line. The “Essence of Beverly Hills” is scheduled to launch in Fall 2009, and will include wrinkle removers, skin tighteners, rejuvenating creams, moisturizers, and eyelid tighteners.
Dr. Fardad is very involved philanthropically. Following in his late father’s footsteps, Dr. Fardad regularly donates his medical services to those in need. Most recently, he worked with the domestic violence charity, Safe Passage, and provided free surgical makeovers to abuse victims.
Dr. Fardad is a member of the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Society of Cosmetic Breast Surgery, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons Society, the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and is a Diplomat of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.
