The villa itself, Villa Del Toro Rojo, was bathed in balmy sunlight and had the feel of an outdoor lanai in Hawaii. There were so many windows that the sun would stream into the 6 bedroom, 6 bath home and give you the impression of a seamless meshing of the great outdoors with the villa itself. The 6,000 square foot property also boasted an outdoor bar, Jacuzzi and swimming pool with panoramic views stretching for miles. It was quite relaxing to sit on the chaise lounge by the pool and watch the boats setting sail from the Marina. The sunset needless to say, was of epic beauty.

Day two began with an in-home massage, courtesy of Suzanne Morel Spa, whose goal is to recreate the spa experience in the comfort and privacy of your own villa. Candles, high thread-count linens and relaxing music were all it took for me to drift into fantasyland. A tour of the surrounding villas in Pedregal, was nothing short of otherworldly. The exquisite properties ranged from somewhat modest, all the way up to mansions boasting over 20,000 square feet infused with 5-star hotel caliber and quality. Casa Cielo is the crown jewel of the villas in this prestigious community. It is immediately recognizable as it sits atop the landmark Pedregal sign. With 9 bedrooms all equipped with their own personal veranda and walk-in closet, you can’t help but feel like the king or queen of your own private castle, no matter which room you choose. With a fully equipped gym, professional game room, infinity pool and various Jacuzzis throughout, it is obvious that no detail has been overlooked in an effort to provide a luxury experience of the highest order. Another gem is La Turquesa, a personal favorite, stylized in modern yet authentic Mexican décor with breathtaking ocean views, a mini-golf green, infinity pool, swim-up bar and over 10 bedrooms. This villa definitely had the makings of an idyllic location for a wedding or other special event.
