The Andaz makes you feel good the minute you step inside. There is no formal reception, just a few ladies hanging out with their laptop’s in the lobby who will help you to check-in. Easy. The atmosphere is very relaxing and with not too much light. This is perfect when you’ve spent the day in the sweltering sun with your hurting blue eyes. By the way I love the giant Benny Chan photographs showing LA’s traffic madness. My room was beautifully minimal with a great surprise that you don’t necessarily see from the door. Near the big window there’s a little living room, just a tiny bit separated from the bedroom. You can sit there and enjoy breathtaking views of the city. If you’re having some hunger pains there are complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and snacks in the room. If you are looking for another place to hang out, just go on the rooftop, there’s a big pool and plenty of alcoves to lay down in privacy. If hours of hanging out by the pool makes you feel ‘food horny’, go downstairs to the RH restaurant, where Executive Chef Sebastien Archambault, who has worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe will take care of your palate with his Southwestern French cuisine featuring fresh California ingredients. So yummy!
