The dynamic culinary team behind Sherbourne, lead by Executive Chef Keven Alan Lee, has curated a familiar menu consisting of classic rustic American cuisine utilizing fresh, locally-grown produce and ingredients. Sherbourne is the first restaurant in Los Angeles to feature a whipped potato bar where guests can choose from 3 types of whipped potatoes as the “Spud Mixologist” personalizes their dish with a variety of garnishes from the traditional bacon and sour cream to the obscure cookies and candy. Sherbourne’s signature dishes are complimented by a premium selection of wines. Menu highlights, include Orleans Style BBQ Prawns topped with black pepper and creamy Orleans style BBQ sauce; Cheven’s Signature Creamy Five-Onion topped with melting gruyere cheese served in a colossal onion; Sherbourne Burger with horseradish cheddar, buttermilk onions, oven dried tomato and cured bacon; The Signature Tomahawk Steak which serves for two and Seared Seabass topped with leak and arugula fondo and black truffle beurre blanc. For dessert, diners will be tempted with classics including Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding and Blackberry Pear Cobbler.
“Sherbourne is a contemporary take on classic American dishes that provides a cozy yet romantic ambiance setting. We want our guests to feel relaxed and comfortable, just as if they are dining in their very own patio,” said Starkman.
Architect John Sofio, who collaborated with Starkman on his previous venues, The Beverly and Trousdale, conceptualized Sherbourne’s design. Bringing the 50-seat restaurant to life are the extraordinary design elements that include salvaged windows from the New York City Armory (circa 1870), antique-inspired Edison light bulbs that drape from the roof shingles and saber tooth skulls flanked across the salvaged wood walls. With the restaurant’s open ceiling, the space is meant to be reminiscent of the open-air cafes on Avenue de Champs Elyseé in Paris and piazzas of Rome and Venice.
