Opera Hotel – Madrid

Posted on 31 May 2011

If you are visiting Madrid, staying at the Opera Hotel becomes a very strategic idea. The four-star hotel is located in the historical center of the city in the district of Los Austrias, opposite the Royal Opera House. Outside the hotel you have a metro station, a cab station or even better you can stroll through the streets, admire the buildings, squares and small corners and gardens. It is a stone’s throw away from the Plaza de Oriente, the Royal Palace, the Descalzas Reales Convent, the Convent of La Encarnación, Plaza Mayor, Gran Vía, Puerta del Sol and the main shopping areas. Close to the museums which make up the famous Art Triangle: The Prado, the Thyssen Bornemisza and the Reina Sofía.Around the corner there are some big shopping streets or Gran Via is only 10 minutes away and if you add an other 10 minutes you are already in my favourite area: Malasaña, the bohemian are of Madrid. The hotel is equipped with a FInnish sauna from where you can contemplate the finest panoramic views of the old Madrid. Equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure in terms of security and technology: a phone in the room and in the bathroom, individual heating and air conditioning system, flat screen satellite TV, Canal Plus, radio, free Wi-Fi Internet connection and ADSL broadband, hairdryer, free toiletry set, non-smoking rooms, free safe, full mini-bar, smoke detector and comfortable furniture even in the smallest rooms. The highlight is in the basement of the hotel: El café del Opéra, where everyday, you can book a table for a dinner that will be served by opera singers, yes you have read correctly: opera singers. Not staying at Opéra Hotel would be a mistake.
