As soon as you walk into the BLISS 57, you know you have entered another world, where things can only get better with each step through the doors and escape the madness of the tourist cesspool known as Midtown Manhattan.
I was greeted by the spa manager and led to the ladies locker room lounge where I was given a fluffy bathrobe and slippers. The experience had officially begun and I felt all of my stresses and worries instantly begin to melt away. The ladies locker room was well appointed with a steam room, dry sauna and their own famed eponymous BLISS line of products (which are environmentally friendly, all natural products). I sampled the Bliss Blood Orange and White Pepper hand cream. I wasn’t disappointed by any of the products and after my spa session I ended up buying several products at the BLISS boutique.
I was so impressed by the products that I am going to link in the products used for my facial below, so that you can check them out for yourself.
My esthetician, had great skin, which is always a reassuring sign. I slid beneath the sheets of the treatment table and was pleasantly surprised that it was equipped with a heated mattress. I was booked for the 60-minute signature facial, which was specifically designed to combat the adverse effects of the environmental toxins on the skin. All of the products used in the facial are paraben-free, so I felt better knowing I was not subjecting my skin to harsh chemicals. The facial started with a Bliss Clog Disolving cleansing cream. The gentle foaming cleanser is based on naturally derived plant and vegetable surfactants to create the foamy lather. This was followed up by a Bliss Pore Perfecting Facial Polish, which tingled in a good way, letting me know the product was doing its job. By the time the Bliss Triple Oxygen mask was applied I was drifting off into lala land. Before I knew it, the famed “Youth As We Know It” moisturizer was being applied and it was time to leave. As I glanced in the mirror on my way out, I noticed my skin was refreshed and glowing. Mission accomplished!
